I want to start by saying my wife and I love Char. The service from the wait staff has always been top notch, including yesterday, and the quality of the food never disappoints. Also, they make the best Screwdriver in town. I recommend Char to anyone who will listen. I will say I was disappointed yesterday because apparently you can't get a baked potato before 4pm. I normally don't like baked potatoes, but I love it from Char. I craved it all day. Imagine my disappointment when, at 3pm, I can't get the baked potato. Not because they were out, but because of the time on the clock. It kind of ruined the experience for me yesterday. I'll be back. We love Char. I hope management will consider this as a request to offer something as simple, yet delicious, all day long. I'm not going to take a star off of a review over this part of this visit. Our service was top notch and the steaks were great.
Char is starting to become my go to since moving to Huntsville. I am a capital grille fan but since the nearest location is far away. char does the trick for good steak and ambiance. I even ran into Mario the singer while there!
First time eating at the establishment. Wedge Salad, Steak Frites, and the best Crème Brûlée in the city. They had an amazing wine list as well as a cocktail menu, but I did not partake because I don't drink. The food tasted amazing and was nice quality. I ordered my steak tips rare and they came out medium, but I'm not one to complain and send food back because it still tasted amazing and was tender. My server was an amazing young lady named M'Lynn who was very hospitable, knew the menu well, was extremely prompt, and provided an overall amazing experience. I have a shellfish allergy and she recommended the best dishes for me as well as notified the back of house about my allergy for extra care. I would highly recommend dining in her section for a wonderful meal. Will definitely be coming back with friends and family.
Everything about this place was fantastic. Come for the food. Enjoy the atmosphere. I will definitely come back here if I'm ever back in Huntsville. There was live music being played on a piano inside! It was an absolutely wonderful dinner. Thank you all for the entire experience.
I met some colleagues for dinner this evening and we had a wonderful time. The wait staff were so helpful and attentive. Had an Old Fashioned to start off the evening. For food, I began with a cup of the Crab, Shrimp and Andouille Gumbo. The main course was an 8 oz. Filet (medium rare) and Garlic Mashed Potatoes followed by a slice of Pecan Pie for dessert. Clean, quiet atmosphere. Highly recommend!
My husband and I had a great dinner at this location. Our food was delicious and we love the atmosphere here at Char. Will definitely be back for another date night.
Today at Char, I had the catfish and French fries and a wonderful salad, it was delicious. When they first brought out my fish and fries it wasn’t hot, so I sent it back to the kitchen and when it came back again it looked and felt like it had just came out of the grease and it looked like the same plate, the fries were soggy and soaking with grease, they were soft and limp…. Ok. I ate one piece of fish and a few fries and asked for a to go box so I could eat the rest of it later and I did after I put it in the air fryer and it turned out delicious. It looked a little greasy at first however, after I got it out of the air fryer, it was nice and crispy.
We had reservations for our 21st anniversary here and they did not disappoint! We were welcomed and seated in a reasonable amount of time. Our server Sierra was absolutely the best! She answered our questions about the menu, gave suggestions and treated us so kindly! The atmosphere was wonderful, inviting and so relaxing! The food was delicious! The steak was perfect, the grouper was just right! We chose to take our dessert home to enjoy and just fabulous! Definitely coming back try other options on the menu!
Listen! I don’t know how these people rate this place anything other than a 5-Star! I ordered the Char Punch Cocktail, Nola BBQ Shrimp and grits and bacon cheeseburger. Everything tasted like it was made with love and happiness (in my Al Green voice). The waiter, Davie was polite, friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. I’m an out-of-towner visiting for the week but will definitely be returning before I head back to Texas. They get 5 stars, carry the 1, multiply it by 3 and double it! 🙌🏼 🫡 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
